Its lacy foliage, delicately dissected into 7 or 9 lobed leaves, is known for holding its beautiful deep red colour the entire growing season. In late autumn, just before the leaves fall off, it becomes bright scarlet. It is easily grown in moist, well drained, slightly acidic soil, in partial shade, but it tolerates full sun very well.
