Outstanding Study Bible with easy to read large print

I enjoy using study Bibles and this is my first Amplified Bible, so buying the newly updated Amplified Study Bible was very appealing to me. What wasn't evident from the product page is that the Bible is in large print. While the print is not huge, it is very readable. The Bible is large at over 2,000 pages; however, it is not too heavy and bulky for my use. I am easily able to keep notes in the room left on the margins and the paper quality is nice enough to hold up to my ink pens. I am really enjoying the โ€œamplifiedโ€ part of this Bible. As I mentioned, this is my first experience with this translation and I wasn't sure what to expect. I find that the amplified meanings (in parentheses) adds to my understanding of the verses and to the overall meaning of what I am reading. The study portion of the Bible with the explanations and cross-references is done extremely well. That there are full color maps at the back is another wonderful resource. I picked up the hardback version for myself and will be picking up another one for my husband. That way we can share our Bible study time. I am also planning on giving this as a gift to family members. I plan to buy the soft faux-leather brown and the purple for birthday gifts throughout the year. While I am generally a fan of Kindle books, I find that, for me, a printed Bible is preferable.
