Over the years, who knows what's been installed in your car. The late pumps were installed on '74 and later bugs (referred to as alternator style pumps), and require 100mm pump drive rods. The early pumps were installed on '61 to '73 cars and require 108mm pump drive rods. Check drive rod length before ordering your pump, or order a drive rod
